You're injecting uncertainty into a situation where it does not exist. Prior to the ascendance of LGBTQ+ rights, Pride as a movement, we saw the results of "protecting" children from this "lifestyle": persecution, ostracization, and millions of people closeted, depressed, suicidal. We are certain:

You can call it "protecting", but what you're proposing has already been tried. The 19th-20th century standard of gender binary with strict gender roles was not based on science or biology, and they sought to segregate children away from even the opposite sex to reinforce it. It failed.
