I don’t think there are much differences in educational attainment but Canada’s system seems to have more protections in place. Including mandatory retirement age for our senators, more limits on lobbying, our judges are not elected, etc.

FYI federal elections in Canada use paper and pencil or pen ballots. No chance of Musk shenanigans. There are ballots counted by hand with scrutineers from the parties at each table. It takes longer and the process is designed by Elections Canada.

Every survey puts Canada extremely high among the best places to live in the world. The pandemic made a mess of every country, but everyone I know is doing just fine. The cost of living is high if you choose to live in the most popular places, but there are lots of affordable places.

I'm 74. We have expensive homes and we have inexpensive ones of the same quality in different communities - an "average" is meaningless. Our minimum wage is dramatically higher than in the States, and nobody here goes bankrupt because they get sick. You see the world in a different way than I do.

US GDP is skewed by a handful of multi billionaires. Take them out of the equation and GDP is roughly equivalent, but we're much better off in Canada because we don't have to worry about bankruptcy-inducing medical bills.
