A lot of farms still manage to harvest their crops, but it's getting harder. ICE is deporting many of the undocumented workers who do most of the picking something like 70–80% of farm labor. So some farms can’t get everything picked in time.

Now they're trying stuff like the H-2A visa program for seasonal workers, but it’s expensive and full of red tape. Others are switching to crops that need less labor or investing in machines that can pick produce but those don’t work for every kind of crop.
