I have the headcanon that they're related. She's related to Hassel on one side of the family, and related to Lance on the other side, hence the flippy-hair similarities. She'd be quite a bit younger, though, right? Argh, the Pokemon timeline is so weird.

oh yeah no I eff with the timeline and make her older for my own purposes. but yeah I can imagine Hassel being a nurturing influence on a young Clair, too!
