I was born in South Africa as a white male in 1963 and moved to Canada in 1997. This post about hit strangely close to home for me. I understand how hard it is for anyone to respond in a way that goes against the dominant public sentiment. It takes courage, and often, it comes far too late.

That was required reading when I was in high school.
