I’m specifically talking about public opinion.

And sometimes it’s important to do the right thing and not the popular thing. I think this is the tip of the spear for the larger overall issue of trans rights in America. We either all have rights or we don’t.

Dems don’t do any good if they don’t get elected. I think polling shows that Americans are okay with trans living life the way they want but draw a line at letting them compete outside their biological sex. It’s a small issue but one that people feel strongly about.

They also felt strongly about integrating the military or schools or various other things. Imagine being frightened by a 15 year-old who just wants to play volleyball.

Not fear as much as the feeling that bio males have an inherent advantage over females (on average). Attitudes may change my point is if Dems make an election issue of something where the country is 80% against them, they will lose. Much better to campaign on things where 80% oppose Republicans.

If the issue of trans kids playing sports is the thing that makes someone pivot away from a Dem candidate then they were never going to vote for the Democrat anyway. Re: bio males having an advantage over bio females - why aren’t we seeing all of these trans athletes dominating women’s sports?
