I saw a recipe for breakfast fried rice with Spam the other day. Not a huge fan of Spam or sausage but seeing this made me think of it.

This looks good, but what is Portuguese sausage? Is it like chorizo?

So @alradley.com taught me about Portuguese chourico the other day. And other sausages from Spanish neighbors. We had an interesting chat about chorizo in general.

Hooman hasn't had chorizo in a long time. She's not a big fan of sausage in general despite being half Czech, but she does like Spanish chorizo and probably would at least be willing to try Portuguese chorico as well. Note, the one type of sausage she will never eat again though is blood pudding.

She tried it when she was Ireland and never again.

Yeah, blood sausages in general have a really strong taste. To be fair though it may have been more of an Irish sausage thing since she didn't like the white pudding either. However, trying a traditional breakfast was a big deal over there and she did it for science and those were the days where

she couldn't blame gluten for not trying it. Her favorite thing out of that breakfast though was the tomato. Go figure.
