Groups funded by billionaires Amazon and Uber 🙄
Uber is trying to fund better public transportation?
Uber is trying to increase their monopoly on the taxi industry and rip off their drivers. They have a terrible labor profile. Do some reseach.
This is research. I'm asking you.
I'm not responsible for educating you. I have a job already. But you can go to the Trans alt, riders alliance and open plans web sites and look at their Financials and donors. Then Google Uber and Amazon plus labor issues
Okay, it just seems weird that Uber wants to invest in its own competition, and you seem to know why, and you brought it up but don't wanna talk about it.
Not that I don't want to talk about it, I don't want to get in an endless online argument with someone who doesn't seem inclined to believe it's possible Uber is not a good company and progressives (like me) don't want our reps beholden to them.
sounds like what they're hesitant to believe is that Uber would be funding public transit. and I get it, it makes no sense
Well look at the plates on the majority of cars in Manhattan now that congestion pricing, something those groups fought hard for, is in place. 80% tlc plates, ie, Lyft and Uber. Now look at what they pay for cp, 2.50 not 9 and that's passed to the rider. They're not simply for public transportation
Now Google Marg Gorton, the billionaire behind open plans and TA. The same guy who funded RFKs preside tial run and his anti vaxx children's org. Hes hardly a progressive Dem so what's his angle here?
Less cars more buses
(but yes!)
Solidarity from Seattle! We had an inaugural “Race the 8” event for similar issues here a couple weeks ago: www.theurbanist.org/2025/07/22/b...
That's good. To me, 5.5 mph is still faster than I can walk, plus I can sit down for a bit getting from place to place.
You rock. Desperate for you to win. 💙, an ex New Yorker
Hang in, Mr. Mamdani -- NYC has got your back.
What's a busway? Allow us to explain. bsky.app/profile/zohr...
Keep it up!❤️❤️🙏🙏
Anything that can reduce crashes is important. It's sad that these things unnecessarily take years. This is a 2019 article about the same issue that referenced advocates who have been wanting action for years before 2019. rhttps://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/28/nyregion/nyc-biking-deaths-lanes.html
There are people who resist changes like this. Safety is more important than a parking space. FYI: In countries like Australia, they build busways, not just separate lanes, but a separate road network. It should not take deaths to get action.
We have some in Indianapolis Indiana. They're installing a new one soon on Washington. A blue dot in a sea of red that's trying hard to improve things. Our roads, however, look like we've been bombed.
"On Thursday evening, a group of politicians took a hike. That is to say, they schlepped seven avenues across Midtown Manhattan, to prove they could walk 34th Street faster than the M34 bus."
NO non-commercial or non public commuter vehicles in Manhattan - PERIOD THE END!!!
Now do the B63. (Seriously. I’ve walked from Brooklyn Bridge Park to Park Slope faster than that bus.)
Vote Mamdani for a better NYC!
#VoteMamdani!
😅 only in America, most of us will walk seven blocks rather than getting the bus anywhere else, but well done!
Fordham Road desperately needs a busway, it almost happened then special interests killed it. People who rely on those buses have no other way to get around, as subway service does not cover whole areas (esp going east-west) of the Bronx.
How refreshing, actual SOLUTIONS for the hardworking TAXPAYERS of NYC. 🗽 New Yorkers deserve leadership that delivers for them!
oh about 7.5 tons
I've been on that 14th street bus for medical appointments. What a difference!!! Loved it. Didn't have to wait. Wasn't late.
What’s a busway? Around 30,000 pounds
Yes!! And don't forget the outer boroughs! The 21st bus lanes in Astoria are great but we deserve a full bus way!

Don't let "people" down, live up to the iideals you claim to hold, words are meaninglesswhen when not followed by actions.
5.5mph is about as fast as a fit adult can walk without tripping over their own feet unless they actually train at race walking.
Hop on a citibike and you can beat any mode in NYC.
I can't vote for you but I sure would if I could. The Q32 got so bad I stopped taking it, even though I much prefer the bus to the subway!
