I must say, the whole Just Say No crap really made me eager to say yes. And I once ate lunch with Nancy Reagan.

I was too young for that to resonate with me. To me all of that 80's stuff was all bullshit. Even stranger danger, meanwhile my parents let me run around until 10 at night. My parents were always like "believe what we say, not what's on TV"

My parents were huge Reagan honks. Thankfully I was able to cleanse myself of that thinking as I got older.

I believe it. But it's always been easier to be a bigot/racist or look the other way. There was like 4 years where people stood up for themselves and white people hated that so much they voted us back to the stone ages.

White folks love punching down. Elevating the folks they have always punched down on was a bridge too far.
