You might want to do a story on those who sought to sell their properties before the last budget due to speculation on CGT rises stated to be included in the last budget.... which never materialised. And whether it is good for media to amplify political speculation to the detriment of the public.

If you are doing a story on the speculation, you are amplifying the speculation, aren't you? Doing a story on the example I gave would do the same thing as you seek, without introducing new speculation into the public consciousness. But I thank you for your response.
