i will also die on the hill that if there's a camera it's not a podcast podcasts are an audio medium. you're making a youtube show. do not tell me about a podcast and send me to watch something on youtube

Same. It's even worse when they use garbage audio. I literally make crap videos for fun and my audio quality is better and more consistent and I have ZERO budget. Have some god damn self respect and treat your audio like the king it is!
"video podcast" = "television"
Disagree. It depends on whether video-recording them wrecks the audio presentation. I.e., if they do stuff for the cameras. Howard Stern's radio show has been on video for years, but he's smart enough to not let it ruin the radio show. It's a radio show that happens to have a camera in the studio.
Conan, too. A camera happens to be there, but it's a pure podcast. I don't tend to like the ones that are video-centric, like Rogan's (which I would hate anyway, but that's what I mean: the ones that try to have it both ways are generally produced by chuds).
Right, i don’t disagree. Video clips of a podcast recording sesh are fine. Anybody who promotes their “video podcast” or encourages people to “watch my podcast” are not making a podcast. They’re maybe a tv show
I swear I remember in very early days of podcasts (like, original iPod days) there were images that changed on certain timestamps. Some shows would use it like a slideshow. I agree, video is something else, but they were not strictly an audio medium.
I didn't just imagine it! "These "chapter" markers can include a caption and an image, which are both accessible from an iPod or iTunes"
