No, not really, because the ones with the (R) next to their name are pure evil incarnate. I’m not gullible or naive enough to think any politician is going to “fix” something.

What if I told you so are a lot of the (D)s are too?
Throughout American history, from the Revolution - Civil War / reconstruction - Great Depression / WW2 - Civil Rights Movement - Today: the liberal party / liberal minded people have always guided the country to a “more perfect union”. The conservative goal is to destroy that. Not all are perfect
But we don’t have a liberal party. We have a Conservative Party and a fascist party.
Disagree on the first part, agree on the second.
So who’s the liberal party, then?
Strange that the description of what a liberal party is doesn’t fit with most of the party. Especially those in leadership, Gavin Newsom, Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, etc. So try again.
Again, I disagree. You’re not even trying to be genuine if you’re making those claims.
Okay, show me how the Democratic Party supports Trans people when they are trying to put Transphobes like Newsom and Buttigieg in power? When Harris stopped supporting M4A? Biden expanding drilling? Why Democrats are running away from Affirmative Action? This is your definition of what liberalism is
You deal in absolutes (like the Sith). There is a world of difference between dishonorably discharging all trans people from the military, denying them access to healthcare and coverage, vs: “Maybe there’s a fairness question with trans women in sports.”
Liberalism is a right wing ideology. I get what you're aiming at, but I think you're missing the mark here. America has a Liberal Party. It just doesn't have a Left.
this. in the US there is often this misunderstanding of liberalism and a failure to recognize that it is the position of compromise with capitalism. liberalism’s goal is to give enough concessions to stave off revolution while till allowing capital to hold power. it’s never been about real change.
The problem is that there are three types of liberalism. The modern version, since Carter, you’re correct. I do think that FDR’s liberalism is center left. And Classical Liberalism doesn’t really fit within our modern understanding of left-right politics.
Big L Liberalism is an economic position which puts private property rights above nearly all else. It is inherently capitalistic. It's an important distinction to make and to also note that the Democrats absolutely are Big L Liberals.
Using the term to mean "not conservative" has led to a dangerous muddling of meanings that has people thinking they are leftists even if they think landlord is a job title rather than an affliction.
No doubt.
I like the argument that Democracy wouldn’t exist without Capitalism. If Capitalism is necessary for Democracy. Then Liberalism is the fusion of Capitalism with Civil Rights. So, if you call everything associated with Capitalism “Right-Wing”, that’s how you get there.
Capitalism is at odds with civil rights.
