Is there anything positive to say about Dems?
Is there anything positive to say about Dems?
Yes. Are you paying attention to Patty Murray? How about Schumer 's work to slow down Trump:s judicial appointments? Dems speaking out on RFK Jr? Elissa Slotkin 's bill mandating ICE officers to identify themselves? bsky.app/profile/arie...
Did you see how Schumer's going to cave on the budget? Again. You know, the only time Dems will have leverage to actually... do something.
Also, Slotkin is one of those "transphobes have a point" Dems, so she can go fuck off into obscurity.
Slotkin is less of a problem than Trump. I wish activists would learn that.
But she's still a problem. We do need at least a few national electeds that aren't problems.
66% of male voters are a problem. You know, the ones who responded to Trump's transphobia and sit back while the GOP lets him purge away.
You do know that most elected Dems are fine with the transphobia, too, right? Slotkin and Buttigieg and Newsom. Buttigieg, btw, who already explicitly said the Democrats won't restore everything should the be returned to power.
What are *you* doing to organize a grassroots effort to get a super progressive party with candidates that represent your goals & values. Put in the work to develop your own group that represents you to a T. I see many people complaining & threatening not to vote. Get to work. Be proactive.
Because we live in a single-member district FPTP system. So we're stuck with two big parties.
It doesn't help that Greens hired Jay Sekulow and wanted Trump to win. x.com/metzgov/stat...
Are you implying it’s too dang hard to put in the work? You’d rather sit at you phone and bitch because a political party doesn’t do what you want? Fix that by organizing.
He's complaining, naturally.
It's super weird that the people who get maddest at Schumer are the ones who refuse to call Republicans or vote for Democrats. What state do you live in, Dexter?
A battleground state. Where I voted for Harris, like I've voted for every Democrat on every ballot this century. Of course, that's all over now until this batch gets primaried out.
Well, we needed a Democratic Senate. I'll take Slotkin over Moreno, McClintock, Graham, Scott, Cornyn, Cruz, Collins.... You know, all those Republicans you aren't bitching about while they do nothing to stop transphobia or ICE. 66% of male voters voted for Trump. Talk to them about transphobia.
Here's the thing. We just went through this 5 years ago. We needed to win at all costs to stop the bad men, so we did. Chose the electable candidates up and down the ballot, voted in record numbers in the middle of a pandemic, and won. Even managed a Senate majority!
And what happened? Foot dragging on accountability for J6, dismissing court reform or really any substantial government reform to stop This Exact Thing from happening, followed up by the worst campaign since McGovern, practically assuring This Exact Thing happened.
Topped off by unconditional support for genocide.
And yet .... I don't believe you voted for Harris. You sound like an operative. If you wanted accountability for January 6th, you would have gotten your friends to vote against the insurrectionist Birther transphobic pedophile. Instead, you're trashing.... Democrats.
Believing in fairy tales again. I did vote for Harris and friends. And these Democrats you're defending didn't do what needed to be done over the last five years, they're not doing it know, and they're not going to do it if they get power again.
Do you know what a fairy tale is? It involves magic wands, and Democrats don't have that. Battleground state voters have to do a little work instead of whining about fantasy situations. Of course, some 'Democrats' wanted Garland to act like Bondi.
"Didn't do what needed to be done" is what most people who apologize for a lazy electorate say.
I don't need a lecture from a pompous moron. Talk to your transphobic, homophobic and generally terrible male friends. Lecture them. I was tired of being condescended to by men when Chris LaCivita 's first homophobic campaign worked in 2004, and I don't really need their opinions now.
They're not my friends, they're yours. Talk to Slotkin and Buttigieg and Newsom.
You're quite a blowhard.
That's what the fellas tell me.
Murray is great, and being kept out of leadership. Schumer has not slowed Trump’s appointments down, and he’s well on path to get more confirmations than any president ever. Bernie is speaking out against RFK. Slotkin’s bill is going nowhere.
If the Democrats cured all cancer, ended every current war, and reversed global warming, you'd still invent some reason why it was Bad and Wrong and Not Really Doing Anything. ...and may you live forever.
Nope. If they actually took risks and showed competence, I’d be overjoyed. But we just don’t live in that world. Bot I do like that you acknowledge there’s a better world!
