The Libertarian party was taken over a few years ago by the right wing (pro trump Misses caucus). The individual libertarians who exist, like me, do not have that platform to amplify our voices anymore.

More like the Republican party got taken over by the people behind the libertarian movement from the very beginning, Birchers / Kochs
Not in the least bit true. Koch got run out of the LP 45 years ago. No libertarian is in favor of a theocracy, so no Birchers. I understand why you say things like that. It is common. But it isn't real. Being libertarian is all about one concept. No initiation of violence. That is it.
The current LP is very much in favor of initiation of violence. Which is why the libertarians have left the party.
Every person I knew that was a libertarian before 2020 started leaning into the trump bullshit. If you look deep down, there's libertarian fingerprints all over his agenda. Libertarians just need to grow the fuck up and realize none of it works in real life. Same with the anarchists.
That YOU knew. Name something libertarian that tre45on has done. I can't.
Cutting taxes on the rich is pretty much a libertarian staple. Deregulation is a libertarian staple. Rule by those with all the money is a libertarian staple. Open your eyes, it was all a long con.
You are correct that cutting taxes is a libertarian thing. But, and it is a HUGE 'but', taxes get cut because SPENDING gets cut. 90% cut to the military. 100% cuts to ICE and Border Patrol. Ending oil subsidies. Etc. Get to zero national debt, THEN cut taxes. Can you imagine tre45on doing that??
Wanna know why Koch broes left the party? It was that "deregulation" bit. They HATED that. Because the libertarian alternative was to require polluters to clean their messes, and not outsource the costs to the public. Not outsourcing lowers taxes. YOU got conned you agreed to a system where we pay
Do you remember this case? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_El...
Here is what legally happened under a non libertarian government. A company spilled a bunch of chemicals through shoddy equipment maintenance. It shut down water for roughly 300K people, and poisoned rivers for a good 1000 miles.
The company immediately declared bankruptcy, and sold all of it's assets to a new company. Which reopened, but the Government ended up with the cleanup bill. THAT is our current regulated system. Libertarians would demand the company do the cleaning, including the owners. NOT the public.
to be fair, for a long time libertarianism hasn't exactly been railing about police oppression of black people
I have never met a libertarian who didn't vocally disapprove of police violence. I mean, it's THE core principle they ALL hold, no initiation of violence. I would love to met a libertarian who ignored or minimized state violence. Just to hear them justify it.
most "libertarians" are just Republicans too embarrassed to admit it. The South Park guys are the exception, and even they have had plenty of gang o' pedos (GOP) aligned views, such as "climate change is a hoax because I thought about it for ten seconds and it seemed fake".
That's a common statement, but untrue. And the Southpark guys apologized to Gore for what they said about climate change. 20 years ago.
Libertarians are just embarassed republicans
It is embarrassing to live in a nation that spends as much as we do on the military. It is embarrassing to lead the world in number of prisoners. It is embarrassing to never fight for a law protecting body autonomy. Need I go on?
