The dark forces in U.S. society are never vanquished. They are only held at bay temporarily. It's the herpes theory of hatred. Once infected, cure is impossible. But sometimes, the sores disappear for while.

They have been since WWII. The Trump regime just emboldened them. The people will never have the power until they get the $$$ out of politics. With a huge chunk of the country motivated by greed, I doubt it'll happen in our lifetimes.

Letting bygones be bygones after Nixon, Reagan, HW Bush, W Bush, and Trump never came back to bite anybody though. What we need is reconciliation.

And it needs to be financially painful.

Nothing Trump is doing is radically different then what conservatives have been saying and trying to do for decades. They are the rot in the country that needs to be dealt with as a whole. Not just trump

There will hopefully never be a GOP president who will be as checked out as Trump. The only reason these fringe weirdos have a voice right now success is because Trump is allowing it. Every Republican congressman and senator need to be held to account for capitulating to this administration.

Since you bring up "checked out", I have to admit I'm old enough to remember Nancy Reagan having to whisper answers to Ronnie when the press asked him questions. He was solidly in the first stages of his dementia (and I pity him) but all the Rs covered for him. They knew. Power is all they love.

I don’t understand why the idea of forming a shadow government hasn’t gotten more traction. A shadow government would not only contradict lies about how the government works, but would put people in place for a government rebuild when the time arrives.

At some point there will need to be a Demagafication.
