But the Dems are polling horrifically now so…. That may be Vance’s best chance for 2028!

Dems are polling so badly because we want effective resistance and they aren't providing it
Battle of the Gerontocracies.
Meanwhile NYTimes has a panel discussion on potential 2028 contenders, one of them suggests Rahm Emanuel (!), suggesting pols not focus on criticism of Trump but to run on a positive vision. It could have been written years ago, completely misreading the moment.
They're the same idiots backing Cuomo, no doubt. Third Way simps.
Someone tried to hand me a Cuomo flyer on the UWS today. I just, "oh, no, not at all," and she actually kind of chuckled.
The polls are kind of weird. Like I consistently note in surveys and polls that I fucking hate the Democrats. But I'll vote for a D over an R based just on that letter given the current state of the Republican party. I hate all of them, but I hate the R's just a bit more.
I'd say a lot more. Most dems aren't actively trying to dismantle our government, abandon rule of law, and conduct fascist takeovers of parts of the country they don't like. They come up short, but the GOP are actively evil.
The problem is people equate the leadership with the party, which I don’t blame them. They are the ones who should be leading! They are the most front facing on MSM etc. But the Dem party has a lot of passionate, exciting candidates out there right now. The leadership is impacting polling
I swear to god, if a Vance vs Do nominee polls evenly, I'm somehow more done with Americans as I already am.
D nominee
and the MAGA folks are doing well in polls? Vance does not have any of the Trump aura so there is that.
Their voters have completely different standards than typical left voters do, I can imagine they would always poll better. They are on average less educated and about 30% of them are in a full fledged cult.
This is a very bad use of polling and ignores voters revealed preference for their stated
Democrats are surveying horribly and voting well.
If anyone were to ask me, my opinions of them would be mariana trench low but it wont affect my voting at all too. My disappointment in them doesnt mean I think they can't govern, you know?
Democratic incumbents and the DNC seem likely to be the issue, and not party principles or new Democratic candidates. Pollsters should be asking better questions.
