I stood by myself for a bit, had a fellow protester join me for a bit this AM at a busy intersection nearby b/c nothing major was planned in my city & I couldn't get to the one at my state capital today. Flew the flag upside down and had a simple sign: "RIP USA // USA, July 4,1776 - July 3, 2025"

Mourning can be a form of patriotism. Grieving what’s broken is to remember what should be whole. Maybe love of country isn’t loud or unquestioning. Maybe it’s the quiet ache for justice, the refusal to give up on what could be. When the promise feels out of reach, loving this place means resisting.

Last year our neighborhood made a big deal of arranging a kids parade on the 4th. This year crickets. And I know we have several maga voters on this street but not much celebrating last night compared to previous years. Fingers crossed it is sinking in and they’ll change their tunes.
A total walkout would flip this whole situation on its back, the “people” would then take control. No money coming in would send the 1%ers and the administration reeling‼️

Fireworks are banned in all states with fire 🔥 possible outbreaks. State wide ban officially banned California fireworks. Multiple others states doing same out of fire concerns. No fire monitors in forestry department all were fired.
