I think I need to....I actually don't know? read the news less? spend less time on social media? I'm just so worried about elite radicalisation and enraged by the useful idiots going along with it without seemingly noticing that I worry it's impacting my mental health, it makes me feel unhinged

A fellow blueskyer posted the reply they got from the BBC a few mths ago where they said they know Reform voters don't trust them so they have to under their charter cater to them as well. I would say it is pandering when you don't ask Reform for evidence or check the evidence they offer.

I really worry about the link to trumps administration, there is a concerted effort to influence uk politics by the likes Vance, Farage and others. The pursuit of Christian nationalism and fascist doctrine in permeating through our politics and being allowed too.

Part of the problem is the BBC still behaves like The Daily Telegraph of 2025 is The Daily Telegraph of 1985, leading its news pages with solidly-researched stories of general interest which require a follow-up, and it should treat it like it's the Daily Star

I've seen a few concerning BBC headlines recently, which is a shame because I've always supported the BBC funding model. This was a clear incitement and her comments shouldn't be presented with that context. She committed a crime.

This is a recurring pattern, though. If I ran the country's biggest news entity, I would probably at least make sure an editor approved a headline before publishing it to the main page.

Once again, yet another unfortunate mistake from the BBC that just so happens to favour the right wing, and you're stupid to think there is some sort of pattern, because the BBC is neutral.

Edward @fornbirkibeinn.bsky.social

I think it's two different phenomena, though one of them exacerbates the other: 1) The BBC has terrible processes in its news and especially online operations that would be a problem regardless of politics and 2) There are people in the BBC actively normalising fringe right-wing agendas

aug 23, 2025, 9:54 am • 16 1 • view

Edward @fornbirkibeinn.bsky.social

If it wasn't for 1, a lot of the attempts at 2 would be shut down before publication, but as it is badly run they have free rein.
