Well, in the 90s, the buzz term was "ethnic cleansing". And in the decades preceding that it was "the fog of war". The fact that any genocide is still happening now, in this hyper-information age, is truly shocking.

Wrong definition. the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group. That's genocide and it's very different for the description you used
