My AC kicked on and I could swear I heard what sounded like two people having a conversation (very faint, in the background). It turned off, and the conversation stopped. I may be going insane.

This type of auditory hallucination is VERY common, especially in situations like you described. You're not going insane, just your ears!

It's true! I'm very hard of hearing and yet I can hear a whole ass radio station playing every time I take a shower. You know. In my head 🤷♀️
