If the private business is getting a tax break, monopolizing the energy grid, and reducing water access/availability then the taxpaying residents do have the right to vote to remove all those that approve permits/variances/subsidies. If they violate health regs then resident class should sue.

The supercomputer facility in Memphis & the way it was implemented. Sounds a lot like the tunnel in downtown Nashville, to the airport. Musk & the governor implemented the project with very little input from the folks in Nashville. Because it was funded by private business.
