Peeps, NEVER use @BankofAmerica. 11 mos harassment charging me $250 late fees & interest on charges not mine on a never delivered stolen credit card. Crashed my credit score, no help available, useless phone idiots. Gotta sue for injury to business & harassment. WORST BANK EVER.
I had a B of A credit card stolen too. The bank were right on it, contacting me after me getting a warning through the app about a suspect charge. I found them extremely helpful, no charges to me. Card stopped and a newly numbered one sent out.
BofA are thieves & crooks. Always have been, always will be. Run away...
I’m just an average Joe and have had my accounts at BofA for the past 35 years. Never had a problem. In fact, I’ve found their customer service pretty outstanding. Just saying.
Well good for you. The best reviews come from people who have encountered a problem. You have no idea how a company handles a problem until you have one. You not having any issues says more about your luck than their service.
Matter of fact, I had new checks stolen from my mailbox and the thief forged them and cleaned out my account. BofA cooperated fully and was actively involved until resolved. I’m not bashing your bad experience - just sharing mine, which hasn’t been bad. Peace.
BofA 21-year credit card $15k limit @ 13% never, NEVER missed a payment. N E V E R cancelled without warning just before last christmas multiple requests for a reason - was informed they "dont have to give one" ok. guess what other accounts they *immediately* lost?
Whatta nightmare! Insult on top of injury, causing further insult and injury. I’d sue. I like PNC, they cover my ass on fraud. Called me up a few years ago asking if I was skiing in Vermont lol. They caught it pretty fast and refunded everything.

I’m sorry this is happening to you, but I have never had an issue with them, nor has anyone I know, so I wonder if that card was stolen without your knowledge, and what actions you took when it was discovered.

Didn't BofA pay out billions in fines for defrauding most of its customers with fake fees some years back? And they had an internal employee rewards program to incentivize these sources of "revenue." Callous capitalism at its worst.

Agreed! Years ago my mortgage was sold to them - I had flood insurance, but they "weren't notified" (they were on the documents), so they started charging me 4 times what I was paying for "lender placed" insurance. I finally contacted a major TV station, sent them my proof & BofA suddenly fixed it.
Please file a complaint with their regulator through HelpWithMyBsnk.gov. It may not help, but it’s important to get it on their record. I hope you’re able to get some relief.

I like credit unions. No fees and much more transparency. Easy to work with.

Credit union. I use DCU and have never had an issue. They pay me for saving my own money and reimburse me for using ATMs.

This is why the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is so important. This is exactly the type of complaint they investigate. You can try contacting the Attorney General for your state, or the FDIC. Banks typically escalate complaints received from a regulatory agency or state AG.
State AG is where you go now since the CFPB is defunded by the idiot(s) in charge.

I contested a fraudulent charge for months, sent proof that it wasn't me, they kept saying a chip was used so it was valid. Like chips can't be faked. Spent 10+ hours on phone, & just trying to confirm if a fax recieved takes 2 weeks. I got it reversed but the system is so broken. Thanks AI.

I knew that decades ago. They deposited my check into someone else’s account and when the checks that I sent out bounced I raised holy hell and got nothing, not even an apology.

Find a local credit union. They are non profit organizations owned by their members and not beholden to fucking shareholders. Ours returns any “profits” at year end to members based on account values and loans. We generally get back about $1,000 per year! No fees. Happy workers. Say NO to banks!

Back around 1985? I was in line to deposit something for the (tiny) company I worked for. Guy at the window was objecting to a series of excessive charges from an overdraw. Cashier said he had no right to complain because he should never have overdrawn his account. Never do business w/ BofA. Never.

Apple Card and its staff are just as bad, if not worse! Reported a stolen card 1 year ago. Asked them to close account. They didn’t. Then the crooks added 8-10 “authorized” buyers to my account. They went crazy charging. I’ve gone crazy trying to clean up.
I learned my BOA lesson more than a decade ago. I would NEVER bank with them and don’t recommend them to anyone.

For you maybe. Chase is worst for me. Somebody stole from my son's bank account using a fake debit card and withdrew money from one physical bank branch after the other. They tried to claim my son "authorized" the transactions. Initially they gave him the money back, then tried to claw it back.

B of A was originally the Bank of Italy. The family owned bank was given the boot for fraud. They landed in America and became the Bank of America.
I have a client in a similar battle with BofA. I have never, and will never use Bank of America personally or for my business. They truly suck.
