You have ask why ?
You have ask why ?

Is it because he wants to avoid further tariffs which will hurt a lot of people in the UK ? Is it because Farage is egging on the Trump administration to suggest that’s possible? We really don’t know is my point.
Not quite. Is this also good for the people of the UK? 🆘 Today, @Keir_Starmer is doing the same - but worse - in plain sight. ⚠️ By sneaking US trade concessions into law via Statutory Instruments, Starmer embeds binding changes before any treaty is ratified. Post by @lizwebster.bsky.social
It’s complex, we are not in a position necessarily to judge. We do, however, know that Farage has very close ties to Putin and appeared on Russia Today - the State Russian TV for a number of years. You pays your money and you makes your choice.
The state that has interfered in the internal affairs and elections of other countries more than any other by a country mile is the USA Turn your attention westwards
Same difference to be honest.
Nonsense US interference in other states is factual and evidenced by a wealth of academic peer reviewed research No other state comes any where near it post 45
Russia?
I must politely disagree. It is not complex at all. Other countries got better tariff deals and are not giving in to Trump’s demands
Who ?
Who, what? Do you mean which countries? Start in Europe and work outwards
UK got a stonking tariff deal compared to almost any other Country.
You can’t turn around World trade just like that … so almost every Country has sucked up to Trump in the short term. Doesn’t mean they will in the longer term. Just let Trump bask in his victory and let the US enjoy stagflation.
They got the same deal and then Trump suddenly added tariffs to 400 items unexpectedly. Must be the art of the deal www.thetimes.com/business-mon...
It almost makes you weep.
As a human rights lawyer(?), Starmer should know that appeasement is never the way to deal with a fascist
Why is Starmer sucking up to Trump & Farage? Because through McSweeney & Reeves he’s aligned with Glasman’s Blue Labour agenda — which overlaps with Farage’s nationalism & deregulation. Different branding, same project. It’s not just rhetoric — it’s policy.
Starmer is already using Statutory Instruments to lock in the US deal (EPD) before MPs even see a treaty. That’s Trump/Farage politics in practice: deregulation, cheap food imports, weaker standards, sovereignty traded away.
It’s a difficult pill to swallow but the blame rests squarely with Farage et al. Would be interesting to know the justification for this action.
No the blame lies squarely with Starmer.
Why ? Because Starmer is more powerful than the US President who wants to see a rift between the EU and Russia ?
I know we say Starmer is just enacting Reform UK policy, but how is it Farage’s fault if Starmer is carrying out the actions?
Farage is a con man with the US President’s ear and the President can turn the screw on Starmer to hurt the British people unless Starmer does as he is told. I don’t think I can put it more simply.
Only few want Britain’s future tied to Trump. Our economy doesn’t rely on America, it relies on Europe. In 2024, EU accounted for 41% of our total exports 51% of imports. America? Only 16% of goods exports, under 10% of imports. Rejoining Single Market isn’t nostalgia, it’s economic necessity.
Personally, I couldn’t agree more but at the minute Trump is President and he has leverage aided and abetted by Farage.
