I lived in America all my life, and this is very rare. Some places are very friendly, but majority of places I lived here. Do not just say hi to you. Americans are just as rude as everyone else if not more so.

I should probably have said TEXANS say hi & give a wave. But I get significantly more “hellos” all across America than I do in Sweden

Oh yeah I agree in the cities when I visited they always say hi. The Suburbs are hit or miss. But for the most part I agree Texas do say hi if not a hello a head nod.
