I know that people are enjoying it but I’m asking what people mean when they say it’s “working” or “effective.”

Reminding people of what normal used to be like is one of the things we're supposed to do in the antifascist book "On Tyranny."

It’s important to stop sanewashing the typical ranting of the potus tweets, which I have seen from outlets like NYT & WaPo. The high-profile parody, on a consistent basis, reminds the public that none of this should be accepted as normal, & potus should not get a pass for rambling incoherently.

i mean that was important, like... ten years ago? when an army of Daily Show interns all got their own shows and devoted them to exactly that. unfortunately, liberals cared more about the team sports than the analysis, and responded with Weekend at Biden's. they went to brunch for four years.

This is a pretty straightforward answer, thank you. Was that Newsom’s stated goal? And ultimately, how large of a percentage of voters are learning of Trump’s tweeting style through attention paid to newsom’s mockery of it? Is there any info on that?

Maybe a measurement would be a decrease in attention to Trump's posts in the future? The parody bleeds Trump's posts of their effectiveness because it all just becomes noise at some point, which means people stop listening to Trump as well as Newsom. Seems better to leave the satire to South Park.

People all over the country are now listening to Newsom. They weren’t before this. Like it or not, this is working.

Apparently, people all over the country are listening to something called Demon Hunter from some K-Pop band--no interest in finding out what this is--that does not mean it will influence politics in fourteen months. Newsom is unlikely to benefit from this in '28, but we can enjoy the moment. 😈

You’re missing out. K-Pop Demon Hunter is great. I watched it with my grandkids. I’m from CA. I won’t be rooting for Newsom for President, but I appreciate him right now.

There have been late night jokes about Trump’s tweets for 10 years now. Newsom’s intern tweets are not more high profile than SNL and Alec Baldwin.

That was preaching to the choir. This hitting mainstream. It’s not “comedy”. It’s playground mocking.

This is not hitting mainstream. Alec Baldwin’s Trump impression has been viewed more than a billion times and had hundreds of hours of news and analysis. Newsom’s tweets doesn’t get more than a few hundred thousand at most and are already getting less traction.
