The one time I attempted to soak the beans something came up and 36 hours later it was just mush with dog hair floating on top. Never again.

Probably still better than canned beans.

Like the cockroach, canned beans were here before me and canned beans will persevere long after I am dead.

It's not! Making a bean dish from scratch is one thing. Using beans *in a recipe,* you will never convince me there's a difference.

You can hardly tell the difference. Much easier when you just want to roast some chick peas for the grabdlittles to snack on

12 hrs? You want to ferment them? Hint: Start your soak in the morning and cook 6 hrs later. Use veggie broth for your cooking water and you'll be all ready to go in 45 min to an hour, maybe a bit longer for some large or old beans. Tonight we're having Baked Enchilada Beans on Yellow Rice-so good.
