Went to see him solo last year and it was nearly 2 hours of chaotic song to song to song interpretations. Mostly of his own catalogue all the way back plus bout 30% of mainly 60s covers. I’m making it sound bad, but was genuinely mesmerising, and when it worked it really did.
I saw him on that same tour. Fully agree. It was more intimate than last night & he went deeper. Played an incredible medley of two of my favourite Richard Thompson songs early on & I was hooked youtu.be/yT2GrFo8frw?...
