Does Britten have a special connection to Southwark Cathedral? I do know that Southwark was where The Church Parables were first performed in England.

Nit that I know of. I’d be surprised as Britten was basically an agnostic - and Curlew River was first performed in Orford. Don’t know about the others. Maybe there was a performance of all of them there?

I saw the Church Parables at Southwark in 2013 and I understood the venue was chosen because that's where the first performance of all three in London had taken place but maybe I've got that wrong.
