Looks like my graphs tracking COVID deaths per capita vs vaccination rate & partisan lean are about to become relevant again. Except that this time the death rates & vaccination rates won’t be available in red states/counties.

If he does this, he damn well better make sure neither he, his family nor his Cabinet is able to get the vaxx, either. Considering their ages, the stress they live with and how quickly the virus mutates, he should start losing people pretty quickly. I'm off to CVS to get a new jab.
I got Covid last Labor Day, and was sick for an entire month. No lingering symptoms except lack of taste and smell. Taste came back pretty quickly and I'm just now noticing the return of my sense of smell. Everything smells awful to me!
FWIW, the CDC *is* still reporting COVID deaths for now. Supposedly they’ve been down to around 200 per week for the past few months. I have no idea whether they’ve changed their methodology or how accurate that is, of course. covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-t...
This might be a good time to look for alternative data feeds. I subscribe to Your Local Epidemiologist (www.yourlocalepidemiologist.co) and, since I live in New England, the Canadian Respiratory Virus Surveillance Report, from their version of our CDC. Both give me an idea of what's out there.
In any event, here's what COVID death rates looked like over the 22 months from May 2021 - February 2023. On the left: Death rates by vaccination rates. On the right: Death rates by 2020 Trump vote percent. Mirror images. acasignups.net/23/04/04/mar...
As @statman-stu.bsky.social reminds me, THIS is probably the single most important graph I’ve ever created. If you don’t mind my saying so, in one image it crystallizes everything wrong with America today.
The world would have been so much different if COVID had hit Republican areas first
In April, an average of about 350 people died each week from COVID, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). in Jan it was nearly 1000 a week. now it is way down. unless newer deadlier variant comes out most who would have died have covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-t...
ok, I see this is a thread and you have that info up top. i think most people who will die of covid will be those who age into the risk factors of dying from it. that is unless as I said a newer deadlier variant comes along in which case we all might be screwed as CDC will slow walk new vaccines
Really hate to bring Darwin into this situation but it's unavoidable at this point.
I liked the County graphic data, even better. It shows how profound the correlation is based upon just one variable, vax rate. It should be impossible to see this on a nationwide basis, given the many potential factors, yet there it is… bsky.app/profile/stat...
I was going to say something about this, but decided not to.. I don't want to regret being so blunt. But I'm certain I'm not the only one who had my thought..
I hope Canada is ready for the number of medical refugees that will be descending on them looking for a Covid vaccine. My husband and I got our passports for this very reason.
This is so freaking insane!! That vaccine was Trump's greatest freaking achievement of his first term and now he's going to get rid of it just to feed his rabid dog base at the expense of human lives.
His rabid dog base is all he's got in the world to live for.
That should be the story. Why is RFK Jr destroying Trump’s greatest, best, most amazing, more spectacular than polio or smallpox vaccines development humanitarian achievement? Trump won’t like that.
This is both entirely on brand and beyond infuriating. It’s “Calling Good Evil and Evil Good: Healthcare Edition.” And it’s not meant to be personal — it is in fact, the opposite, in the most dehumanizing sort of way. But it sure feels personal. bsky.app/profile/ange...
An appeal to The Felon's ego might stop RFK Jr bsky.app/profile/robv...
Totally on brand for MAGA officials to deny the 200-250K lives lost in red counties & states from low vax rates, as compared to blue areas. It’s almost beyond belief that they’d stand behind their “beliefs” when their policies resulted in added deaths, in areas that vote for them. SMDH!
@charlesgaba.com 😡
Aren't they trying to deny the vaccine to everyone? Not enough to kill themselves. Gotta take the rest of us down with them.
