The problem with thinking Gavin Newsom is the fighter we need or whatever is that this is all a massive game to him and I bet you everything that if he won the presidency, he would immediately stop going after Republicans. It’s political posturing to him, nothing more.
Newsom doesn’t actually care that bad things are happening and doesn’t actually want to see Republicans pay for their crimes — he just is smart enough to realize this political posturing is good for his chances of becoming president, his only goal.
All true but I’m also fine to let him fight with Trump for now even if it’s for the wrong reason.
