Somehow the pundits who insist we're missing something vital but not being on X rarely acknowledge this. It's like playing cards with a guy who brings his own marked deck.

Bluesky critics from X complain Bluesky users live in a bubble insulated from X’s sewer of Naziism, hate, tech bro arrogance, and misinformation. We say, yup, enjoy wallowing in your fetid Elon sty.

At this point I wouldn’t be shocked to discover every impassioned defense of the primacy of X was followed up with a very nice check to the writer. At least that would explain the glaring blind spot.

I'm glad he locked me out of my account when he did-that's the only thing 'nice' I can say about him. It was at the exact time of the Nazification ramping up.

My guess is that those defending their use of X simply see significant revenue, engagement, subscriptions, etc from their activity there. And they don't want to give up that money/attention/etc. Related to those who use substack tbh, which has some unsavory connotations.

There are so many things I miss more than X: cigarettes, three channels of TV, what the Catholic Church was like before we knew what the Catholic Church was like, colonoscopies before they invented Cologuard, the Cold War...
