I understand you POV, but the Windsor, is in my opinion the boring knot. It’s too perfect. The four-in-hand or double version offer variability and, honestly, a better dimple.

You're perfectly illustrating WHY I do not understand men's fashion. To me, the difference in dimple between Four in hand, half Windsor, and full Windsor knots is negligible (standard knot, no personal adjustments) However, men obsess over this.
Women's fashion has it's own small details we obsess over, but exactly how the folds on a scarf fall is not one of them. Also, men's fashion has a lot of "nit picks" rooted in classism. Not that women's fashion doesn't, but has far fewer and the most well known/debunked is "white after labor day."
You are quite correct. I work in men’s custom suiting. It really has all just become personal preference. I like Derek’s historical info, but it really has no bearing at this point. You are seeing looks from 5 different decades currently. It’s SO MUCH FUN. Women’s suiting is the same!
... I still miss my Scully suits from the early 2000's. ;) Yes I wore them with the cream silk blouse
