Translation: The bill could result in some very clear and obviously good outcomes for workers, but it has also “”raised concerns”” (what are the concerns? are they valid? who knows?) with one of the two constituencies who actually run this state (the Chamber of Commerce), so that’s that on that

Y’know I’m beginning to think installing a Matt Yglesias subscriber as state executive might have some downsides

Simply no way of knowing in advance that this could go poorly, unfortunately.

Yes, but let’s not let the housing nonprofits off the hook. Meyer cites the DE chapter of Habitat for Humanity or the Delaware Affordable Housing Coalition (which, confusingly, includes “Housing Alliance Delaware” as a member) as supporting his anti-labor veto, too.

Frustrating that they can’t imagine spending the public grant money they administer as pass-through entities without also embracing wage theft - though certainly in keeping with how many cultural and social service nonprofits view workers.

Was thinking CoC and FOP as the two orgs who run things, but Homebuilders is a close 3rd. Ironic, too, that we're up to our ears in a housing crisis.
