Well, in this case it's a Jerusalem cross but the smaller crosses are replaced with a christogram saying "Jesus conquers/triumphs". It's orthodox-coded, but also associated with some crusader states I think.

Good catch. I'm not that familiar with The Crusades. Except for the first one, Europe's first genocide. You don't hear much about the Cathars anymore...

Well, the crusade against the Cathars was in the early 13th century. The first crusade was at the very end of the 11th century and also included the "People's Crusade" where a bunch of common people attacked Jewish communities in what is now Germany to pillage what they needed to reach the Holy Land
