Legally allowed maximum… if you don’t mind me asking are you in an MFTE unit? My experience with the program is after the first year they will just hike it to the max just because
nope - I think they want to remodel the unit/the building, so they're just trying to push everyone out
Not to rep my district but theirs a decent amount of affordable and not deary places in the udistrict! I had a very similar fucking annoyance last summer where suddenly rent was tripled and I needed to bounce. Maybe it'll offer the same luck to you

there's always been a patchwork of laws that regulate this, even back when I did it, but there's also a certain degree of "don't get caught/pass the charisma check" with any kind of sleeping not inside your own home I've found, which is... shitty but how it is

It's a lot of why I commute into the city, I hate the drive and being disconnected from it but I got really tired of super shitty apartments, now I live in a sorta ok duplex with great water pressure and a small garage for the same price as a Seattle studio Having a neighbor on one wall is nice too

in Seattle a solid 1/3rd of the buildings I've toured at this point I would only describe as marginally habitable at best, and I genuinely have pretty low standards
also really looking forward to living in another place where all color has been bleached out of everything and I'm not functionally allowed to paint anything, despite the legal requirement to repaint upon getting a new tenant. idk I love Seattle but this fuckin' sucks lol

the only time I've lived in a home that was nice was when I rented half a friends' duplex in Reno, and in my ex's house they owned in Idaho. otherwise it's been more dire every single fucking move I've made. this place I just toured? basically zero water pressure, $1700 a month
when we toured apartments they made sure to let us know that the wheeled AC units were only for showing and would not be included in the rent thanks for that, then.
this place barely had enough water to flow through the showerhead when the tub spigot was stopped, lol

For almost 2.5 times what we paid in Atlanta for a 3/2.5 with a two car and a sizable yard in a gorgeous neighborhood, we’re getting a 3/2 with water damage and a small patch of dirt that’s a block from a muffler shop

I did it for about six months! but the van broke and I didn't have the ability/money to fix it. plus now I'm married and my wife doesn't have a remote job, which would make it basically impossible
Yeah, finding enough legal places to park overnight in the same area on a continuous basis can be tricky, especially since they keep going away in unaffordable places where they’re needed most…
yeah I doubt I could actually do it long-term in Seattle at this point, they are pretty serious about ensuring homeless people stay as miserable and precarious as possible
The main reason why I went off the road was getting married. But it was also in my mind that van life is getting more and more difficult, particularly under the current administration.
