How many heinous adoptions are acceptable to you? If your grandchild said she had the misfortune of being in one would your response be to remind her that not all adoptions are like that? Do you think that would be helpful to her?

So, we are doing “what ifs?” That was not our reality. Sorry, if your adoption was horrible. Our family did not have this experience. The daughter we adopted came from her biological family where they harmed her so we took her for ours. I will never apologize to anyone for my child.

I had a great adoption. I never came out of the adoptee closet until both of my adoptive parents were deceased. I knew they wouldn’t like my point of view.
