I agree! My problem is, I never just eat one. Mmm, onigiri.

I've given up and just started making my own. I have the little molds and everything. They're so great!

I want to try that some time, if only because the ones in the States never come out of the plastic as cleanly as the ones in Japan did.

Oh! I put plastic wrap into the mold first, then shove in rice and smush it up against the sides, leaving a gap for the tasty tasty filling. Then another fistful of rice to close the top, fold over the plastic wrap and press hard with the mold lid. This way, it's already wrapped for later.

Nice. I meant the store bought ones, where you peel the middle and then pull from either side. The ones in Japan always came out cleanly, but the US ones, the seaweed gets stuck in the plastic every time.

Ah! In the end, I either just cut nori sheets in half and wrap the onigiri myself, or I just skip the nori and get right to the shoving the delicious food into my mouth. (I think I'm hungry, actually. Maybe it's dinner time.)
