Precisely!! They know exactly how to spin their woes to the Canadian public. Canada Post has literally TRILLIONS in assets. All they have to do is take recommendations from CUPW seriously and profits will easily come back.

Canadians definitely need to be made aware, in contract negotiations when the shareholders are told your losing 10M a day doesn’t put them in a sympathetic bargaining position, I don’t get mail, I recognize others do, CP needs to publicize their value and importance, get the public on board

That is not their end goal. The executives have been spending (wasting) billions of dollars a year for the last five years on “efficiencies”. The brag about on their website. Now there are thousands of EV trucks sitting dormant in parking lots all over the country, there’s a $900-million sorting…

what do you think the solution is? I don’t want to see any Canadian company employing Canadians, fail, but I don’t know how to make this company profitable or zero loss

That’s not for me to decide. Many proposals from people who get paid for knowing have been forwarded. It is my opinion that a National Postal Service shouldn’t be in it for profit. But I know a lot of people aren’t willing to pay $20 a year to keep it running…which saddens me.

Not for profit, but aim to break even, or lose less, every employee pays taxes, that’s the only money we’re making from cnd post, I don’t think 13% over 4yrs is a bad offer, the casual vs PFT OT, hopefully that gets sorted

…facility in Scarborough Ontario working at less than half capacity, they’ve been telling customers to use Purolator (which they own 91% of) during contract negotiations and much more. They want privatization, which will drive prices up and lessen where they deliver.

Imagine how much money they wasted producing bargaining ads scattered around depots, or the at least 6 letters sent out to every employee to try and manipulate them. Or all the money they have lost directly telling there customers to shop elsewhere. There incompetence is astonishing.
