48 game finishes and 29 saves says otherwise. It may not have been predictable for you, but the entire row of people watching with me predicted it. π

Ah. Sure.
I guess you were all wrong about the usage though.
Huh?? Hoffman has been used 37 of 58 times in a save situation. Thatβs how he should be used. He has zero holds this season, because he isnβt meant to be used to hold the game. There is no reason whatsoever to put him in to hold a tie game. None.
Youβre managing to the game, not the stat. That was the highest leverage spot in the game, which is where you would use your highest leverage reliever. I could not give a single solitary shit about the βholdsβ stat.
Ok, how about high leverage stats? Heβs been used 31 time in high leverage situations, only 11 times with the game tied. If he is our highest leverage reliever, used only 11 times in tie games, what does that say??? Youβre defending a terrible decision for some reason,
β¦one that, again, predictably ended the way it did. Iβm not sure why you think this was the right decision. I think you just want to argue for the sake of arguing. Look at the results.
