Yes! Our rice doesn't meet their (Japan) requirements. My husband is an agricultural chemist and registers products for sale in other countries. He's already said our rice is trash.
It was the same with Trump demanding UK take American chicken. American food safety is below all but third world nations, so first world ones won't take their shit. Their strategy is to threaten every country to have as little food safety as the US.
Just like how we don't want US dairy in Canada.
That’s also about protecting domestic food supply, so bad actors can’t starve Canada, like Hitler almost did to the UK. Agricultural protectionism is more important than ever.
Well, we also don't really need American dairy products. Our dairy and poulltry are supply-managed, so our farmers can stay farming and we always have roughly enough. It's worked okay since the 70s
We don’t even like our own rice! Your husband knows the deal. It’s just like our field corn. It goes into animal foods!
Yep! He has worked in the industry for over 25 years. He knows his shit. And he knows that most American crops are junk.
