You are right it probably won't help but it might be the best he can get. If Todd Blanche doesn't agree to allow Maxwell to lie about her bad memory than the deal is off and she will testify in front of congress without any sort of agreement. What will her testimony be then?
I don’t think testifying to Congress can benefit her, and I don’t think it will happen. Her only chance is to make a deal with Trump, and I just can’t figure out how it would work.
In my opinion, which is worth nothing, the best that Trump can get from Maxwell is just that she can't remember. She will want something in exchange for that and this may be the best Trump can get. Better than truthful testimony which will destroy his presidency and severely damage MAGA.
