My pics are terrible, but has anyone else seen oak parks bike boulevard's? They don't feel great.

A green t bike lane intersection Another green t from the same intersection Bike Blvd paint with cars parked on it. Two way sharrows with dashed bike lanes on a two way street.

Riding on the roads themselves today felt fine actually -- there were hardly any cars and all of them were willing to give space to bikes. But I wouldn't have attributed any of that to the new paint.

What’s funny to me is the newer routes they’ve been painting the last few weeks are the routes I naturally gravitated to by trial and error.

If it convinces more folks to bike on those roads, and gets drivers aware of bikers, it can be a net good. I always say I appreciate the reputation bike messengers have in the city because it makes drivers ultra aware of any cyclist, which makes us safer.

There was some vocal pushback to a well thought out bike plan, which did pass. I haven’t ridden the East/Scoville blvd yet, but those are relatively slow and low traffic streets so it made sense for the route. Lots more painted lanes coming elsewhere. Not many curbs in first wave

Not as good as they could have been. Pairing some of the sections with 20 MPH roads was smart. Their installation has coincided a significant uptick in bike usage on those roads. Wish there was more hardening, but I don’t think there’s political appetite for that yet.
