It's 100% psychological I think. I had gym people teach me good form and I still couldn't feel my chest engaging. Tho I think this is actually common for a lot of people! You have to really focus on your chest as you do the exercise.
The weights might be too light too. Or the exercise is too easy, if you're doing calisthenics.
