They stole another person's art, put in in the tablet, ran the ai tools, and are passing it off as their own art. There's an entire reddit thread going down right now showing what they did. It makes me question their entire portfolio. How often was this done? How often was it missed?
I don't do reddit, lotta toxic shit there. OP states they drew their character so imma take that at face value. The background is not the point, they said it's a still from something else so they're not claiming that work. As for drawing on paper, that's the part of what you said that confuses me.
Drawing on paper and drawing on a tablet are not at odds. There's no war there and inventing one is very strange to me. The enemy is AI, not digital illustration.

But she's not claiming the background as her own. She's claiming the character as her own. Everyone did this with the Sailor Moon redraw and it wasn't a problem then and it isn't now because the point is that you drew your character over a screen in the show... Just like this.
