Imagine if these atrocities were committed in the schools that their children were attending. Something would be done then, and it would be more than thoughts & prayers.

And many are quite rightly saying that thoughts and prayers are not enough. Vance has twisted this so that he says they are attacking those who pray – it is an attack on prayer! Gun control is needed, but sadly I don’t see it anywhere in America’s future no matter who is in charge.
They are defending their lack of comprehensive action through their delusional, oppressed Christian worldview that has no basis in reality. As an atheist, I could give a fuck if people pray or not. Live and let live. What I do care about is actual shit being done to protect our kids.
Agreed. As a recovering catholic I have no problem with those who believe in Jesus. However, so many Christians have beliefs completely contrary to what is in his teachings. Vance is a prime example.
Why do they worship someone who wasn’t white, was born in the Middle East, and never spoke a word about being cruel to less fortunate people?
Yes, I was never taught that Jesus was not white but in every representation of him he always was. And his message about helping your neighbour, and the poor, and the sick has certainly been forgotten by many Christians. Especially on the evangelical wing of the religion. I am now a happy agnostic.
If Jesus were alive today his skin color would be such that the RW evangelicals would lock his ass up and deport him to some god awful alligator alcatraz concentration camp.
