This is great. I remember similar projects in Levenshulme and Preston way back when I lived up that way. There was an inspirational docu-film about a guy in a gang and crime-ridden part of LA who started transforming waste areas in the neighbourhood into cultivated spaces. I'll have a look for it.

Sounds good Barbara Streisand has been involved in New York initiatives similar to this for quite a few decades. The alleys of course are bigger, wider...it's America!
