Yes, let’s distract everyone from the good stuff we are doing, like 30 hours of free childcare, and a second minimum wage increase, by pretending to be ignorant and cruel pricks. It’s an interesting Comms strategy.

They did try to promote the free childcare and the news presenters insisted on talking about asylum hotels. Susanna Reid said outright that she would not discuss childcare.

And a 10 billion pound military contract, which the msm have largely ignored.

I literally wept with relief when they won, and they are doing amazing things. But to be gaslit by the people you voted for is very hard to endure.

Same. Personally I thought wed get a load of well meaning, if ineffective, wishy-washy centrism…didn’t expect them to become transphobic flag shaggers who want to “temporarily” suspend human rights overnight 🤪🔥

I think we reached a new Labour low when a serving Prime Minister's sole public reaction to a wave of nationalism and ethno tagging was, "Um Ackchyually, you might be shocked to know I like flags."

I think I literally face palmed for this first time in my life How can they be *this* bad??? Some free childcare, while commendable, *in no way* makes up for it 🔥🌹

I have said several times this morning that was Starmer's version of Gordon Brown's 'bigot' moment Inexcusable, unedifying, naive and utterly contemptible I will not ever forgive him and Cooper that foreseeable misstep into the abyss

Total leadership vacuum. Simply bouncing to react to a different weekly Reform narrative. Completely absent of vision or ideas, and lacking the courage to counter the ideas and values of the opposition. Labour are simply pointless.

Don't get me started...many years in NHS mgt doing exactly that. Vision, plan, delivery. Waiting Lists reductions post 1997 for example

Very hard Although you may be aware I only voted Labour last GE to get rid, successfully, of a local Tory I did have a lot of hope though

I live in Portugal and get told often enough by idiots that my views & vote are irrelevant even though I am a UK citizen. But FWIW, I was not part of the relief/euphoria when Labour won the GE.

Not b/c I have left the UK, but b/c it seemed clear to me that Labour were *not* going to be the salvation so many assumed they would be.

The signals were clear - continued Hard Brexit for a start, same austerity economic approach by Reeves as the crime syndicate, indications that they would be tough & unsympathetic towards disabled, sick benefit claimants etc.

What could not be factored in though was the grotesque racist/anti immigrant cosplaying of Reform & playing to the gallery of that yob audience.

Additionally, the Israeli Zionism apologist & cringy appeasement of felon/rapist Trump. Sorry, I see no amazing things. As far as I am concerned this lot are not that much better than the parasites who preceded them.
