Never been to the American South, and would love to visit some parts of it, like Louisiana. But if this is an example of their cuisine I think I’d prefer to holiday in Liverpool.

Possibly. I’d still like to visit, but maybe when the sanity returns.
This isn’t the food that Southerners eat at home, this is a generic commercialized version of it. Southern cuisine is very different from state to state & even within different regions of a state. For example, the cuisine in North Florida, where I live, differs from the cuisine in South Florida.
