I've had a grudge against Reese for years, ever since she went out of her way to spit on Black Indians. I'm not surprised she's spitting on other NDNs too.
Not helping is me explaining to non Indigenous people how problematic she is. The response was "but she says things we agree with, so she's fine."

I think she means legislative recognition? There’s multiple forms of state recognition - we actually are in NCAI because of Federal court of claims, after proving we were the direct descendants of the Lipan from 300 plus years ago. This shit’s complex.
Yeah, my own people are halved with only the Oklahoma group federally recognized, but the Indiana group sure isn't *dead* and have enrollment. They took our last reservation and status with it, but we bought back our sacred land and persist in our traditional lands. As you said, this shit's complex.

I’ve considered Debbie Reese unsafe for a long time, ever since she intentionally misread someone’s being inspired by the horrors of indigenous and black history as finding the history inspiring I’m so sorry
