We can reasonably expect a certain level of physical fitness from security professionals whose job it is to physically protect us. The contrast between that expectation and reality is striking in this case. It doesn't apply to you. I am sorry for your sorrows and I wish you well.

I was also in the military, so I understand the critical need for physical fitness requirements for all law enforcement and military personnel. The rigors of the job put this fella at risk of severe health issues, which would now be paid by taxpayers. I get your point, though, about shaming.

You are right. The fat cop should have already been fired quietly and tactfully. He is apparently well-connected to still have a job, but We the People should not have to pay for cops who are morbidly obese and incapable of doing normal cop tasks. Public exposure is appropriate in this case.
